I wanted this year to be different. More intentional and less haphazard. I decided the best way to shape 2013 in this deliberate and conscious way was to set intentions for the New Year. So in the first week of January I sat down and crafted a simple 3-word intention: surrender, success and service.
Now that the first quarter of the year is almost complete, I find myself questioning: How am I living up to my New Year’s intentions? Am I making choices that reflect what I set out to do for 2013? And most importantly, am I being who I need to BE to birth this new vision of me into reality?
I’m asking these questions because I know the magic is in my choices – when I choose actions and behaviours that embody the qualities I set out with at the beginning of the year then I will make that giant leap forward into the change I want to see in my life.
What about you? What seeds of promise did you plant this winter? More time for yourself? Eating better? Exercising more? Practicing more yoga? Doing more meaningful work?
I’m begging you: don’t let your intentions go unnourished! Get clear on where to invest your attention and energy. And do it before you see the first shoots of green. Now is the time to plant the seeds of our intentions because Mother Earth is poised to support us. She is abundant and ripe with fertile energy. Rather than lament what we didn’t do, let’s make 2013 be our most empowered and gorgeous year ever.
