With Christmas only 15 days away, I decided I better start posting my favourite recipes to help you keep your hormones and your belly happy over the holidays!
I have so many fun, fertility-friendly recipes to share but I couldn't possibly email them to you all, so I'm going to be spontaneously posting hormone-happy recipes until the New Year on the Yoga Goddess facebook page and I don't want you to miss out! The first recipe I want to share with you is my variation on this recipe from ‘Just a girl from Aamchi Mumbai'‘s blog. It's a delicious Apple Date smoothie perfect to keep your hormones happy during the luteal phase of your cycle aka your pre-menstrual time.
PMS and Fertility-Friendly Almond-Date Smoothie Recipe
Makes 2 small glasses, no cooking required
1 Medium Sized Apple (Cored and diced)
3 – 4 Seedless Dates
5 Walnuts (Almonds work too but they're better for your Ovulation phase)
1 Coffee Cup Almond Milk
1/4 tsp Cinnamon Powder
Optional 1-2 tbs Protein Powder (I use Brown Rice Protein Powder. Hemp is good too)
Ice Cubes if you like it chilled (or live in the Southern Hemisphere)
First blend the nuts in a blender or food processor until finely crushed. Add the dates and apples together until they almost look like a paste. Add the almond milk, cinnamon and optional ice cubes. Blitz well till blended. Serve in a tall glass. Sprinkle with a dash more cinnamon or nutmeg and enjoy!
